We're giving you a funky one today!
We’re taking the classic popcorn and giving it a serious, funky twist. This recipe will use the 814 Maple Buffalo Sauce, combining the heat of buffalo with the sweetness of maple, and mixing it into caramel popcorn! Yep, you read that right—sticky, sweet, spicy popcorn that’s an absolute wild treat. It’s perfect for adventurous snackers who want something a little different to munch on while binging their favorite shows or hitting the trail.
Ingredients:
10 cups of freshly popped popcorn
½ cup of butter
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup light corn syrup
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons of 814 Maple Buffalo Sauce
Sea salt (optional)
Instructions:
Pop your popcorn: Use an air popper, stovetop method, or your favorite popcorn-popping style. Lay it out on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper.
Make the caramel: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until everything melts together. Let it simmer for about 4-5 minutes without stirring too much. You’ll want it to turn a nice amber color.
Add the funk: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the 814 Maple Buffalo Sauce. Then add in the baking soda, which will give the caramel a light, airy texture and help it coat the popcorn.
Coat the popcorn: Pour the caramel buffalo mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat. It’s okay if it’s uneven—some bites will have a sweet caramel burst, while others will hit you with that buffalo kick.
Bake it: For extra crunch, bake the popcorn in a preheated 250°F oven for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Cool and Serve: Let the popcorn cool down a bit so the caramel hardens. Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for
